St. Petersburg. Russian Dacha Tour

Duration
1 days

Visit a Russian dacha in the countryside near St Petersburg (1 day tour) Modern Russia currently has the largest number of owners of second homes in the world with an estimated 50% of Russian families living in large cities also owning dachas (countryside cottages). During the Soviet era, dachas were adapted for use in increasing food production and today they have evolved into attractive weekend cottages and summer cabins brimming with fresh garden-grown vegetables. Dachas provide a peaceful retreat from the noisy polluted cities and offer a unique holiday experience of swimming in rivers or lakes, sun bathing, biking, woodland walks and a wonderfully fascinating natural rural environment. We invite you to visit the Dacha is in the village of Semiozerie (Seven Lakes Village) – a very picturesque place featuring a hilly terrain with sand dunes and surrounded with seven lakes and a pine forest. The hospitable owners are pensioners now. They live there all year round often visited by their daughter and grandchildren. They speak fluent English. The couple grows a lot of vegetables in the kitchen garden and greenhouse: carrots, cabbage, potatoes, radish, beetroot, tomatoes, cucumbers, greenery and everything else that can be grown in our northern latitudes. Tasty lunch cooked by Galina will be one of the highlights of your visit.
